An important role of the Safeguarding Adults Board is to raise public awareness so that communities as a whole, alongside professionals, play their part in preventing, identifying and responding to abuse and neglect.
People should be provided with information and support to help them understand the different types of abuse, how to stay safe and what to do to raise a concern about the safety or well-being of an adult.
In November 2015, the SSAB launched a countywide campaign, called ‘Thinking it? Report it’, encouraging people to make contact with Adult Social Care if they suspect someone is being harmed.
